Minimum Requirements & Gross Salaries
Senior House Officer (SHO):
Resident (in training) Doctors with at least 2-3 years of recent experience.
Fluent English = passed the English test : IELTS 7,0 Academic language certificate OR OET gr B.
Gross salary between €45,000 to €62,000 / year. There salary will increase depending on experience in a teaching hospital.
Registrar Doctors:
Specialist doctor, preferable with 2-3 years of recent experience in the specialty applied for
Fluent English - no IELTS or OET English Certificate required ( some Public Hospitals may require to have the English test : IELTS 7,0 Academic language certificate OR OET gr B.)
Salaries between €55,000 and - €78,300 gross per year
Type B contract 39-hour week.
Consultants:
Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council or in the process of obtaining it
A minimum of 5-10 years’ post specialisation experience in the specialty being applied for
Fluent in English.
Consultant salary is €135,790 to €159,969. Type B contract – this is a basic salary 39-hour week.
