Description of work at the actual clinic and its assignment and goal
The oncology clinic has a county mandate that includes providing advanced medical treatment and nursing care to cancer patients mainly in Gästrikland, Hälsingland and northern Uppland. Within the business, day care, work in the reception and care department, radiotherapy and palliative care are carried out.
With 15 employees within the medical group, we today have a wide range of skills and together we work to offer good and close care adapted to each unique patient. The oncology specialty is under constant development both in terms of research and treatment options. We follow developments in order to take part in new medicines that lead to longer lives for the patient.

Plans for the future
Ongoing structured introduction of contact nurses so that we work as a group within each tumour group.
Ongoing discussions to improve and update our collaboration with the oncology clinics at the nearest university hospital.

120.000
Number of employees
Around 150 employees, of which 10 are specialists and 5 trainee doctors. The remaining professional categories consist of nurses, contact nurses and assistant nurses. We work intraprofessionally and in teams regarding all patient contact.
Job description / what is included in the service and placement?
Usual reception work.
Placement as responsible doctor in a ward for 12 care places once every 6th week.
Day and evening shifts.
Placement on the radiotherapy unit based on competence and special interest.
Clinical experience
Good skills and experience as a specialist in Oncology.
Important personal characteristics
Being humble, comfortable in a group, driven.
Responsibilities/requirements linked to the position
Be able to take responsibility independently for various MDKs (multidisciplinary conferences) based on competence and special interest.
Supervision of the clinic’s trainee doctors.
Salary
Salary negotiated for 2023:
1: Assistant doctor, fixed-term employment during work/Swedish studies (50%/50%), B2-C1=SEK 43.500
2: Legitimated assistant doctor, fixed-term employment after Swedish legitimation and specialist certificate during introduction to the doctor role = SEK 47.500
3: Legitimated assistant doctor, permanent employment (if additional time is needed before employment as a specialist doctor = SEK 51.500
4: Specialist doctor, permanent employment SEK 65.400 – 66.400
(5: Consultant, permanent employment = individual negotiation).
For longer term: the average salary of a specialist in Oncology in Sweden is around SEK 83.000.
On-call duties and their organisation
The shift work is divided between day shift 8-17 and evening shift 17-21. On average, you have 1–2-day shift/evening shifts every two weeks. There is also a weekend pass Saturday-Sunday once every 3rd month between 08:00 and 21:00.
Setup for language course B2-C1 when it is carried out after employment in the Gävleborg Region has begun:
Half days.
We want the language course up to level B2 to be carried out in the home country / on campus, including an intensive course. B2 – C1 is carried out from the workplace in Gävle and is combined with work as an assistant nurse and studies 50% / 50%, i.e., work mornings and studies afternoons Monday – Friday.

• During the personal visit which is part of the interview process, the cost of travel and accommodation are financed by the Partners
• Free Swedish course from A1 to C1 level. Between A1 and B2 online and B2 – C1 in the workplace in combination with work. The candidates will study each afternoon after work. Financial support during the course up to B2 (the amount is topic of negotiation).
• Free language education for family members – to B2 level for spouses and school-age children is obligatory.
• Help with the application for Swedish license to practice, supervision of the process.
• Free Swedish legal and social training which consists of 40 lessons.
• Integration assistance (assistance in registering at tax authority, opening bank account, etc.).
• Assistance in finding school/kindergarten for the children.
• Assistance in the organization of moving and in apartment-seeking.
• Support for moving: 30.000 SEK for singles and 45.000 SEK for families for furniture transport + 5.000 SEK for travel costs.
